1. What type of Church is SPV?
The St. Pete Vineyard is a member of the Vineyard Movement, which is a family of churches in the US & world-wide; we welcome everyone, regardless of their beliefs. We are a Bible-based community who places a high value on Worship, Authenticity, and Relevance for all ages.
2. What are your services like?
Our services are fun, engaging, and filled with opportunities to express our love for God through passionate worship, reflection on His Word and genuine friendship. Our services rarely run longer than 90 minutes.
3. Will I have to do anything, say anything or give anything?
You are free to just come and observe or to join in, whichever you prefer. You will not be asked or expected to do anything that you are not comfortable with. Our offerings are for those who call SPV their church home.
4. What do you have for my children?
We are pleased to offer a dynamic, creative and loving ministry to children from birth to 5th grade. During the worship service, we offer nursery and classes that are well supervised and creatively designed for your child's enjoyment. All of our children's workers have had background checks as the safety of our children is of utmost importance. Our workers are available to greet you as you walk up and guide you to the appropriate classrooms.
5. What ministries or programs do you have?
We offer several ways to get plugged in such as our weekly community groups, community outreaches, men's & women's groups, feeding the homeless, and more. Feel free to search our website for more info or pick up some of the materials available at our welcome center and in our program each week.
6. How do I join SPV and get more involved?
We welcome your involvement from day one. Since we stress relationships we always recommend trying out a community group to get to know some people or even simply going out to eat with a family or two after church. Ask the pastor, he loves to eat.
7. What type of people go to SPV?
We welcome all people. The people who make up SPV are people just like you. We are a group of people who have experienced brokenness, failure, rejection and disappointment, but we have come to discover the incredible power of Jesus love and the grace with which He rebuilds our lives.
8. How can I get to know the leadership of SPV and ask them questions?
The leadership of SPV is always available to answer your questions. You can always e-mail any specific questions you have to the pastor, or any of our leaders, for that matter. You are invited to join us at our next Newcomer Lunch which is an informal opportunity to meet Pastor Chris, his wife, Crista, and the rest of the staff and learn all the basic information about who we are and what are about.
9. What type of music do you play?
Our music is relevant, personal and focused on the presence of God, not the performance of man. It is definitely not boring!
10. Are there opportunities for me to use my gifts and talents at SPV?
Absolutely! Few things make us happier than seeing people empowered to live out their dreams and destiny. We are committed to helping that happen in your life as soon as you feel comfortable jumping on board.
