PB&J Ministry
PB&J Outreach
Who are we? We are people of the Kingdom with a passion to see people meet Jesus. The PB&J Ministry is a community outreach activity that has shared the love of our Father with the needy of downtown St. Petersburg on a regular basis since 2013. With the unified help of other churches like First Baptist of Pinellas Park and Christ the King Lutheran Church, we have been able to provide a reliable meal each Sunday afternoon throughout the year.
On the 2nd and 4th Sunday every month, the Brown Baggers meet in the SPV cafeteria after church to make sandwiches. They fill as many as 150 lunch bags with a peanut butter & jelly, lunch meat or egg salad sandwich, a salty snack and a dessert cookie.
The Kingdom Team loads up the same amount of cold water bottles and heads downtown to Williams Park to hand them out. Along with this act of kindness and provision, the volunteers share their faith, offer to pray and build relationships with the people they meet in the park. Sometimes we are able to assist with other basic needs including clothing, first aid and toiletries. We can also provide “Hands-Up” assistance to those seeking positive change.
Volunteer Opportunities:
The PB&J Team ministers to people downtown at Williams Park through prayer, relationship, and assisting with basic needs.
